You offer New for Old on your policies, does that mean I have to insure for the cost of a new one?
|
No, you have a choice:
- If you insure for the new value, then in the event of something catastrophic happening and your instrument is written off then we will pay up to the value insured to replace it or repair it. - You can insure your instrument for the cost of replacing it on the 2nd hand market. What New for Old cover means is that when we receive a claim we do not consider the age or condition of your instrument when settling a claim. So if you insure your instrument for £10,000 then we will pay up to £10,000 to repair or replace. CAUTIONARY NOTE: Whilst we are happy for you to insure your instrument for the 2nd hand value, please make sure you can replace it for this value as the insurer may limit a pay out if they believe you have insured something worth say, £50,000 for £10,000. |
