What makes our policies different from the rest?

In 2023 we paid out on over 99% of all claims.
This was no accident, we have over 40 years of experience providing policies to our customers and understand what happens when an instrument is damaged and what needs to be done to protect you from the financial impacts following an accident. 
As a result, all our policies are written with:
  • ALL RISKS;  This insurance term means you do not leave the success of your claim to us or the insurer. We tell you, in advance, all exclusions that apply.  For example, if you deliberately damage your instrument (this is an exclusion) we will not pay.  Because all losses should be accidental, but we make it clear. If you suffer a loss and the circumstances are not in our exclusions, then you are covered.
  • NEW for OLD;  This means we will pay up to the value you insured your instrument to repair or replace it, we will not make any deductions for age or condition at the time of your claim.  
  • up to £3,500 for the cost of transportation. Repairing your instrument is only the start of the costs involved with repairing an instrument so we have a generous allowance to ensure your instrument can be transported to a specialist, not just someone local to you, this includes the manufacturer because sometimes, only the manufacturer can repair the damage properly. 
  • Up to £4,000 to hire a replacement instrument.  When an instrument is damaged we know that some specialist repairers and manufacturers take their time to repair it properly, some of them frequently take over a year to make repairs.  What do you do if you want to practice or for that next gig? We will allow you to hire a replacement for the duration of the repair, not just for the gig. 
  • Free Public Liability cover;  We include £1m of Public liability cover with every policy. So we do not just protect you from the cost of repair, but if you drop your instrument and hurt someone or their property, we protect you from the associated costs.

If you lend or hire your instrument to a friend or third party you can increase your cover to include the risks presented by them looking after your instrument. This cover also protects you from the risk of your instrument not being returned.​
